It’s a brutal, random, hopeless crawl through a cursed land. A descent into misery and madness. For players who enjoy agency-light, atmosphere-heavy games like MÖRK BORG, Dark Fort, or even solo journaling games. It hits hard.
If you’re after tactical play or lots of player choice, this probably won’t be your jam.

This Brutal Hex Scrawl Solo Adventure is inspired by the work of 1d10+5 (Basilisk!) & Kevin Rahman (Forbidden Psalm) while creating its own unique blend of horror and dark humour.

I have been enjoying the game but I had a couple of questions:
Do the special locations have any exits blocked?
Do you reroll for a hex that you’ve already explored if you need to backtrack?

Thanks for getting in touch, great to hear your enjoying the game!
the only special location you don’t roll exits for is the Oubliette, you can exit the way you came in unless you roll a 4 then you’re trapped forever.
You can freely move through hex’s you’ve previously explored. But monsters that you fled from are still there waiting to be fought.
if you want an extra challenge
You can roll a d4 on a previously explored hex
1. Peril
2. Weak Monster
3. Tough Monster
4. Encounter
